Best airport transfer booking from Paris Rambouillet
Rambouillet — commune located in Yvelines department (Ile-de-France), north-central France. It is placed in the Paris suburbs, forty four kilometers (or something about twenty seven miles) from French capital city centre. The commune lies on the southwestern edge of Rambouillet Forest, which is official hunting ground. This fact obviously attracts people to the Rambouillet. But the real fame to the commune gives the Rambouillet Castle, which is nowadays France president’s summer residence.
Rambouillet Castle was built in the fourteenth century. Until the seventeenth century it was the property of Angennes family. French king Francis the First (who really loved to hunt) quite often visited the castle due to its close location to Rambouillet Forest. According to the legend he died in one castle’s towers, nowadays this tower has king’s name. Until the 1783 Rambouillet was in property of Louis Alexandre’s legatees, then it was bought by Louis the Sixteenth (another one hunting lover). During the French revolution Rambouillet was seriously damaged, but Napoleon Bonaparte has reconstructed it. The last monarch who lived in Rambouillet was Napoleon the Third.
In 1896 the castle visited president of France Félix Faure who decided to make from it president’s summer residence. The tradition was lasted in 1944 by Charles de Gaulle who stayed in the castle before he returned to emancipated Paris. Nowadays the castle is still used for political meetings. For example, first G6 summit in 1975 took place here. In 1999 there were negotiations about Kosovo’s status.
Ground transportation to Rambouillet can be quite complicated because the commune isn’t served by RER. So you should use the railway. Of course it isn’t very convenient due to strict schedule. To book a transfer would be a good solution. You can do it from any place in Paris or its suburbs including the variety of railway stations (Paris Nord, Austerlitz, Lyon, Montparnasse, Paris Est, Saint-Lazare, etc.) and airports (Charles de Gaulle, Beauvais or Orly). Booking airport transfers is especially good idea — there is no need to carry your luggage!
